This entry has been a draft since may (ᵕ—ᴗ—)
I finally graduated!! I'm no longer in school (prison)!!!
I'm currently blogging this on the 12 of June, but this entry has been a draft since the 26th, the day I graduated! I have just been relishing in my freedom since then, and I've been enjoying employment as well!
But any who, going back to the day I graduated, It was pretty hectic at first. Everyone in my family were rushing to get ready for my ceremony, especially me. I didn't do a lot though. Just a bit of concealer, eyeliner, lip balm, and I styled my hair and wore my super cute formal dress with my favorite cardigan ^^
I also wore my class ring and my charm bracelet on my other hand :3
After getting ready, my family and I headed out to the location of the graduation ceremony, which was very far (2 hours or so). I fell asleep during the ride there. When we got there, I was super anxious honestly. There was a ton of people and I also had to navigate the place, luckily with the help of the kind staff. I was quiet the whole time, aside from minimal small talk with the other students and some of the staff. Before I and the other students walked across the stage to get out diplomas and such, there were a few speeches people wanted to give. That was about an hour and thirty minutes lol. I guess one cool thing about that was the fact that Kensington Tallman, the voice of riley in inside out two, was a guest there! She went to and graduated from the same school as us (the students), so that was interesting and pretty random! She gave an inspirational speech related to the theme for this year, which was 'Rising Voices.'
After her speech a few more people delivered some speeches, and then, the students began to be honored for being valedictorians, in honors, cte (career and technical education) completion, etc. We were called out and asked to stand according to our achievements and cord colors. I had a blue cord for my cte completion and a white cord for honors. I made a little mishap during this part and I was so embarrassed for a while until I realized lots of other students made mistakes during the whole ceremony as well, so I calmed down and let it go after a while. After being honored for our achievements, it was time to walk across the stage and receive our diplomas. As we walked across the stage, out plans after high school were also read out to the audience (our family, teachers, etc). Lots of the students parents, including mine, were cheering them on very loudly, and some even had props of their kids lol. That was pretty wholesome to see, but I was startled when my family cheered me on as I walked across the stage since I didn't realize they were in the audience at first.
After we walked the stage and got our diplomas, we took pictures backstage. Then afterwards, the staff, counselors, and teachers said a few more words, then the ceremony finally ended. Music started playing and some students threw their caps in the air... That was really awkward... We all then left in lines and navigated outside of the theater. We were given graduation cookies as we left haha. It looked nice but it tasted bad honestly.
gave this to my brother to eat instead xD
Once I got outside, my family and my teacher of 10 years greeted me. My teacher also gave me some money and I video called my other family members who couldn't be at my graduation physically. I also took additional pictures with my family at the ceremony as well. There were some classmates I recognized, but I was too scared and anxious to say anything to them XD. There was also this boy with my dream piercings there. I envied him so much... After the ceremony, my teacher, family, and I, headed over to grab a cake and cupcakes for the occasion. I got my favorite, lemon cake. I also got a little graduation bear there too ^^
Pic of me with the bear lol
After grabbing the confectionaries, I said goodbye to my teacher, and my family and I headed back to LA, where we would have an amazing evening dinner at one of my favorite restaurants.
After dinner, we headed back home. We ended up eating the cake and cupcakes the next day since we were so full from the dinner, and tired from the day. I also ended up getting lots of gifts from my mom as well!
All of the graduation gifts I got (A plush puppy, bear, pillow, balloons, and some additional jewelry not pictured here). I've bundled everything up and I'm keeping everything as a time capsule :)
My themed lemon cake ^^
My mom really prolonged celebrating my graduation afterward. A few days later, she bought two batches of crumbl cookies (very overrated tbh), and I also got sprayed with silly string as a surprise while consuming the cookies lol. Then, that was it! It took me about a week to really process everything haha. I'm happy to be out of school for the time being. I'm now on a very long break. I'm taking a gap year, maybe even two honestly. I want to enjoy these years while I'm still young, as they are precious, and I can't get them back.
After my break, I'm off to beauty school, then I'm going to get my license! But for now, I'm just focused on enjoying life, having fun, and being the best person I can be!
